A well-orchestrated bread festival for schoolchildren
In Broût-Vernet, the bread festival turns into a real feast for the little schoolchildren! Organized by the festival committee, this event in two parts brought together the students of Claude-Gillioppe school around workshops that were both delicious and educational. Imagine yourself making croissants and pizzas, all without spending a penny. It’s possible! Read on to find out how.
Croissant workshops with an educational twist
On Thursday morning, the students enrolled in after-school care had the opportunity to transform into little bakers, thanks to the invaluable help of David Morillat, Thibault Mazzella, and Antonin Mesples from the bakery Aux Délices Bourbonnais.
The children made around a hundred croissants. And it doesn’t stop there! The kindergarten students took over to prepare even more. While these delicious pastries were baking in the oven, several workshops awaited them.
Learning while having fun with pedagogy and playfulness
The students in the vocational baccalaureate in Services to People and Animation in Territories (SAPAT) from the Family and Rural House of Escurolles introduced the children to various expressions related to bread. But the highlight of the show was undoubtedly the workshop on composing the “little breakfast,” which showed them that this meal is crucial to starting the day off right.
The association from Saint-Pont, Objectif Terre, offered an activity on making French toast. Other fun activities were organized by the La Magic social center and the leaders of the after-school care. One thing is for sure, the children had no time to be bored!
Pizza Party: a gourmet and educational evening
The following Friday, 48 children from after-school care were invited to a pizza evening organized by Jean-Claude and Arlette Dilon. Under the expert guidance of Claude Blanzat, each child learned the tips to make a good pizza.
Thanks to these workshops, the young participants were able to leave not only with full bellies but also with new culinary skills. And the best part? Everything was free!
How to participate in these events
To enjoy these wonderful experiences without spending a dime, you just need to register your children at Claude-Gillioppe school or at the Broût-Vernet after-school care. Keep an eye on announcements from the festival committee and the school’s newsletters to be informed about upcoming editions of the bread festival.
Your children will thus be able to participate in educational workshops while having fun and, icing on the cake, tasting delicious homemade croissants and pizzas. It’s an opportunity not to be missed!
