Preparation of a delicious braised chicken in green sauce
Necessary ingredients:
1 whole chicken
2 onions
4 cloves of garlic
1 bunch of fresh parsley
1 bunch of fresh cilantro
1 lime
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation steps:
1. Preparing the marinade:
Start by preparing the marinade for the chicken. In a blender, add the onions, garlic, parsley, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Blend everything until you obtain a smooth and fragrant green sauce.
Pour the marinade into a container, add the chicken, and mix well to coat the meat thoroughly with the green sauce.
Cover the container and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
2. Cooking the chicken:
Preheat your barbecue or grill to medium heat.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off the excess sauce.
Place the chicken on the grill and start cooking. Turn it regularly for even cooking.
Continue cooking for about 40 minutes until the chicken is well browned and cooked through. (Check with a cooking probe for an internal temperature of 75°C).
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before carving.
3. Serving and tasting:
Cut the chicken into pieces and serve it hot.
Accompany it with the remaining green sauce to enhance the flavors.
You can also serve the braised chicken with rice, grilled vegetables, or a fresh salad.
